Hi everyone,

I'd like to start by telling you how significant it is the fact that you and me, your family members, friends, aquaintances, etc change our lifestyles.

What are you doing in order to help reduce the severe impact of pollution which the world population is coping with these days?

I've realised that most politicians and bisinessmen just keep talking, but in the end they keep and persist using materials, substances, plastic, etc which are harmful, really harmful.

We need to look back and see the way our ancestors used to live. Let's remember and put in practice the very best so that you, your loved ones and anyone here could be granted the possibility to live and enjoy life as we all wish they could.

What do you think?

Frida.

I agree with you compltely. There is unfortunately so much talk and very little action. In our modern times we have left behind Mother Earth and we have forgotten the ancient Celtic prophecy of the Morrigan. There are many small changes we can make in our daily lives like using CFL bulbs, reuse plastic items, recycle waste and also reuse water from washing vegetables for growing plants, actually grow more greens…. These aren’t difficult to do but need a strong will to do so. Also joining environmental groups to actually take action would help a lot.

The mess we are making of the Earth is also why we are suffering. The Earth has an inexhaustible source of compassion for us and She blesses us with food, shelter and clothing and fulfills more than our daily needs but we are simply growing more and more greedy. An animal is happy because no animal kills more than what he needs to eat but man kills for pleasure and no reason at all. The least we can do is help our planet and protect it. Of course we can’t stop the carbon footprints by millionaire jet planes. Even if we do so in our own little way.

Oh yes, if each one of us did his share, this planet would soon be a better place. Unfortunately, most people just talk and wait that THE OTHERS start doing something. Often it needs just someone to take the first step ...

I have started to recycle my bottles, cans and aluminum. I also recycle paper and batteries. At my school, we have started to plant native plants in the planters and have recycling bins all over campus. Energy effcient lights are being installed through out the whole campus. Government subsidies are being created to help cut the cost. I'm also seeing more fuel efficient cars around and less hummers. I think the biggest problem right now is energy resources. Americans are addicted to oil. I live about three miles away from a refinery so we have a lot of pollution. People are starting to take notice but it's not going to be done over night. Educating people about the effects of global warming and their actions will be key to improving the situation.

I agree that recycling to save the environment is important there are even some communities in New Zealand who decide not to use plastic bags when they shop at supermarkets. The nature is New Zealand is remarkable and lots of organisations have been formed to protect the scenery and ensure that it is still available to future generations.

As a development student I can add more information on this. I think it is important to take care of the environment because it effects everyone in the world. I have studied international debt, famine and refugee issues and it alarming on the problems that are occuring in the world. Although, it is great to see that there are plans to solve such problems. Although, perhaps the solutions are long way away before any changes are possible.

I think this is an important issue which world needs to be more aware about.

>Well the first step is education. There are a lot of miss information about being environmentally friendly. For example people will tell you that A Toyota Eco is more inventively friendly than a ford focus. It's not The Toyota is made entirely out of plastic. The VOC volatile organic compound's Produced from making one car out of plastic do more damage to the environment than driving a ford focus for 50 years! There is a lot of miss information about what's environmentally friendly! The big company's are labeling things environmentally friendly just so you feel god about buying them. use your brain do your research or you'll be doing more harm than good.

I think that, nowadays, the Global Warming is one of the most important problems. Everyone have to care about environement and its impacts on the earth.

In my familly, we recycle cans, bottles, packing, etc and we also act for little things in everydaylife, like puting lights off when we leave a room or doing co-conveyance.

I hope people come to realize that the issue is important, and especially that we must act together to change something. = )

According to me there are two ways to live in this World...The things that are happening let it happen, just keep on suffering OR Take the responsibility to change the system. If each person in this world plants one tree in his backyard. We will atleast be satisfied that we have done something to keep this environment green.
