Would anyone care to voice his/her thoughts on the US elections? The preliminaries have been going on for a year and a half already. It has taken 17 months for the Democrats to elect their candidate. The final results no doubt will have implications for the rest of the world....what do you think?

Unfortunately i missed his speech to create my own opinion about it. will watch on youtube later... anyways i am definitely routing for mccain. i was very surprised of his veep choice, i honestly thought he was going to choose romney. but i am very glad he chose palin. she sounds very confident, i wish she had run for president! this has been a very interesting past two days and will only get better now that the conventions are taking place. and i am pleased to hear that you are following in the footsteps of the lady in mccain ad kathleen:)

Well after a reflection i think MC Cain did a bad choice and i will explain that to you .Mc Cain is not in good health if he died who will replace him Palin .She had no experience what kind of trouble she could do in America.Obama sur e had no experience but he choose a men who had some kind of experience in politic.I think Obama could do better than Macainbecause he did not tried to choose a lady to replace Mrs Clington for the vote .Peoples are not fool i hope .Think seriously young men or old men with bad health who could died anytime .

Death can come to any person in reality. No one expected JFK would be assasinated or that Harrison would die three months after being in office. Life happens. Yes, I have changed my opinion dramatically since I did my first post but this campaign has changed dramatically. First of all, I respect Obama's efforts and applaud him for being the first African American presidential nominee. His choice of Joe Biden is strong with the experience factor, but I'm not a huge fan of him. Second of all, I don't think McCain's choice of Governor Palin was to solely drag in former Clinton supporters. Thirdly, I don't think it's fair of you to judge McCain based on this close-minded "strategy". He chose her because she has more executive experience then Obama OR Biden, she sticks to her word and isn't afraid to speak up against Congress. She is a very strong and confident leader. I don't know what they are telling you guys in Canada, but I think you should educate yourself more on these current events by looking up cnn.com or msnbc.com. I would rather have someone do a good job and have the right experience for the job and die shortly then have a man who can't say a sentence without using the empty promise of the word "change" in everything he says and has no executive or foreign policy experience.

If McCain is just a repeat of Bush politics, then why did they run against each other for the Republican ticket a couple of years ago? If it's just a repeat, then why aren't they good friends and agree on anything? Yes, some policies might be repeated but it's because they are in the same party. He has made it very clear that he doesn't intend for it to be a repeat. The economy is in the situation it is in because of inflation and speculators. Yes, the government has some part but not enough that it is the main cause. Obama has little experience on the senate floor and hardly anything he worked on passed where McCain has been fighting against Bush policies for the past two terms.
